Meet Our Instructors



Founder, Reformer 

Pilates, Group Fitness

Hannah has spent over a decade as a PE, Health & Outdoor Ed teacher in secondary schools, both in Christchurch and Melbourne. Her true passion has always been in movement and making exercise accessible and lifelong and most of all enjoyable. Hannah is extremely passionate about everything she does and this spills into her classes which shows in the welcoming and fun environment she creates. 



Reformer Pilates

Carli fell in love with Pilates when she starting attending Hannah’s classes in 2018 and loved it so much she decided to complete her Certificate IV in Mat and Reformer Pilates instructor training, with the incredible Breathe Education. She graduated in 2021 and now shares her love of Pilates with others. Carli is passionate about empowering fearless movement in an inclusive and supportive environment and will always challenge you to explore the limitless possibilities of movement. Her classes are always popular



Group Fitness

Gemma looks at health holistically, focusing on both mental as well as physical health.  She LOVE love love strength training, also getting outdoors and is always up for a challenge. Gemma is always a good laugh and enjoys encouraging others to push themselves beyond what they believe they can achieve.  Gemma is a firm believer in the power of the group for motivation, achieving goals and how important it is for our well-being to be socially connected



Group Fitness

Jeremy is our high energy trainer. If you're after that heart racing feeling or the extra burn, Jeremy is your man. Jeremy runs our very popular boxing class and TRX class.



Reformer Pilates + Group Fitness

Kia ora ko Ashleigh Ellis tōku ingoa, a group fitness and reformer pilates instructor at Base Body since 2020. I completed my Bachelor of Sport and Recreation and Stott reformer pilates training in 2021 and am passionate about positive movement and sharing this experience with others. When not in the studio you will find me exploring walking trails around Northland, sailing in the Bay of Islands, travelling or with my camera.



Barre + Reformer Pilates

A passionate dancer & fitness enthusiast, Bella was born and raised in Whangarei. Her love for dance began at the age of 3 when she started ballet classes, She started teaching dance classes, becoming a dedicated instructor by the age of 18. While attending university, she also became a barre instructor at a women's gym, where she crossed paths with Hannah, and later become a barre instructor at Base. Driven by her love for dance and fitness, Bella finds great joy in practicing and promoting these passions.




Jess is our Peachy Queen, this is a class Jess created herself and the girls love it. Jess is fun and vibrant and so are her classes.



Group Fitness

Aroha is a movement queen, she is our CrossFit expert and she is a weath of knowledge on technique for heavy and olympic lifts.  We are very lucky to have Aroha helping us out in Base Builders and the girls love her firm approach and her encouragement towards constant improvement and progress. 



Reformer Pilates

My love for pilates came about after having my daughter. After experiencing some post birth issues and a quite bad ab seperation it got me inspired to help rebuild and strengthen my pelvic floor. I discovered how strong and flexible I became after taking pilates and how much it helped me mentally. This is where I realised it was where my passion was in helping others and helping educate everyone on the importance of the pelvic floor and how no matter what stage of life we are at its so important to have the right tools to help rebuild and strengthen our body and our mind."
